Albuquerque Sunport Debuts Modern Upgrades and Amenities

The Albuquerque International Sunport is undergoing a modernization project called “Dream of Flight,” with improvements scheduled through 2026. The Sunport recently introduced the ABQ FlySide Pass, a free digital option that lets nontravelers explore the terminal beyond security without a boarding pass.

New food and beverage options are part of the makeover. Travelers can now visit Burque Brews, a new venue that highlights Albuquerque’s beer culture and creative cuisine. In addition, the airport’s food hall has been completed and now houses seven new dining and bar locations, including Cheese & Coffee, Flavor of New Mexico, Indian Pueblo Kitchen, Rush of Prana, Steel Bender Brewyard, and Teller Bar. Three more local dining options—Sadie’s of New Mexico, Laguna Burger, and Frank’s Famous Chicken and Waffles—are expected to open in early 2026.

The Sunport has also improved passenger amenities. A revamped cell phone waiting lot, called The Holding Pattern, has been unveiled. The updated lot incorporates technology, convenience, and comfort for those picking up passengers.

Three new retail stores—Globo Mercado, Nob Hill Necessities, and Roadrunner Express—have opened at the Sunport. These stores offer a traveler-friendly experience featuring locally made products and well-known New Mexico brands. Additional stores are planned for the future as part of the continued efforts to enhance the airport experience.
