Maricopa County Prioritizes Growth, Safety, and Services

Maricopa County officials are setting priorities for the coming years, with a focus on programs and services that directly benefit residents. County Chair Kate Brophy McGee emphasized the importance of using taxpayer dollars responsibly. The priorities include helping families avoid evictions through prevention partnerships and pilot programs, addressing the backlog of mentally ill individuals needing treatment, and managing growth by ensuring that new developments are supported by adequate roads, services, and infrastructure.

The county is also introducing two new tools to explain its planning for growth. The first is an Infrastructure Readiness Assessment and the second is a Development Pipeline Dashboard. In addition, Chair Brophy McGee confirmed the county’s commitment to public safety, fair and nonpartisan elections, and open communication with residents. A public meeting is planned to share the comprehensive election review results once it is complete.
