At the first formal Board of Supervisors meeting of 2026 in Maricopa County, Arizona, Kate Brophy McGee was unanimously elected as Chair of the Board. She is the first woman to serve in this role since 2001. The Board also thanked Thomas Galvin for his leadership and service as Chair during 2025.
