Maricopa County, Cartwheel aim for 50,000 students in first year
Maricopa County, Ariz. — The Maricopa County Department of Public Health is partnering with Cartwheel to recruit schools and connect students and families to virtual mental health services, with a goal of reaching 50,000 students in the first year.
The partnership will expand access to student mental health support in communities where care can be harder to access.
Through the program, referred students may have access to therapy, family support, parent coaching and psychiatric care. Initial appointments are often available within about one week.
Services are voluntary, insurance is billed when available, and no family will be denied care due to inability to pay.
