Arizona DPS honors Officer Floyd Fink, killed in crash
From the Arizona Department of Public Safety inreports: Today, we remember Officer Floyd J. “Skip” Fink, badge No. 940.
On February 18, 2000, Officer Fink was killed when his patrol vehicle was struck from behind during a traffic stop on U.S. 60 near McClintock Drive. The impact caused his patrol car to catch fire, and the 28-year DPS veteran was trapped in the vehicle until several people were able to extinguish the flames. He died in Maricopa County Hospital a short time later.
The at-fault driver pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to 18 years in prison.

Arizona woman arrested on first-degree murder warrant
PHOENIX — Detectives with the Arizona Department of Public Safety's State Gang Task Force arrested 27-year-old Parketta Allen of Laveen in Phoenix on an outstanding warrant for first-degree murder, armed robbery, kidnapping, theft of means of transportation and burglary, and she was booked into the Maricopa County Jail on a $1.7 million cash-only bond.
