Diamondbacks Secure 30-Year Downtown Phoenix Future
The Arizona Diamondbacks have played an important role in Downtown Phoenix for the past 27 years. Their presence has generated $5.4 billion in GDP, supported local businesses, and helped create lasting community impact. About six million visitors come to Downtown annually, with nearly half attending events at Chase Field, the Diamondbacks’ home stadium.
Chase Field, which is owned by Maricopa County, will undergo renovations to ensure it can continue hosting baseball games, concerts, and other major events in the revitalized core of Phoenix. New legislation has been passed that secures the Diamondbacks' future at Chase Field for 30 years.
Amilyn Pierce, the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Vice President of Government Affairs, led efforts to build a coalition of lawmakers across the region to support HB2704, key legislation for Downtown Phoenix’s continued economic development. Pierce was recognized with multiple awards from the Arizona Capitol Times for her role in advancing the legislation.
The Phoenix Community Alliance also highlighted the contributions of its Advocacy Director, Patrick McDaniel, and the Public Affairs Committee for their work in supporting the bill.
